The UPLR device is effectively used for emergency catching operations in wells. This device includes a collet catcher and a ‘Yersh’ catcher, which are designed to capture and retrieve various objects from the tubing string. The collet catcher has the ability to lock and retrieve lost tools or pigs using a standard ropsocket, which is especially important when there is a contrail ring at 1000 metres depth.
The Yersh catcher, on the other hand, is designed to grab rope wire or geophysical cable when it breaks, engaging with objects via hooks. The variability in the design of the device allows it to be adapted for use in various sizes of strings, including 60, 73 and 89 tubing, depending on the requirements of the operation. This integrated system of catching devices provides high efficiency and reliability during well rescue and recovery operations.
The collet trap is designed to securely grip tools with 20 mm diameter tips and is optimised for use in oil pipes with diameters of 60, 73, or 89. A special collet trap model is used to secure the cable lug type UPLR.
Speciality 1
The ‘Yersh’ device protects against possible jamming of the tool in the tubing coupling during its removal and is able to support the assembly of the tool and wire (cable) with a total weight of over 100 kg.

Technical features
The device is released from the collet trap using the included expander (extractor) for easy maintenance.
Speciality 3
3
The use of the PR-Techno weeper type preventer makes it possible to perform catching operations without having to stop the operation of the centrifugal pump, which greatly simplifies maintenance procedures.
Speciality 4
4
In order to guarantee safe well operations, the dimensions of the collet catcher must exactly match the diameter of the emergency string. The collet catcher is designed to prevent possible seizure at tubing couplings during retrieval, ensuring smooth movement of the tool through the tubing connections. A special expander (extractor) included in the delivery set is used to extract the equipment from the collet catcher. It is recommended to install the preventer on the wellhead fittings above the lubricator to allow work to continue without stopping the centrifugal pump.
The collet catcher, part of the unit kit, is designed to retrieve lost tools or scrapers that are suspended from a standard wire ropsocket (bell type), including the use of an anti-reverse ring recommended for 1000 metre depths. When the rupsocket is lowered into the column and raised back up, its hooks engage the remaining wire break or geophysical cable, thereby ensuring its successful retrieval. The device can be manufactured to fit various tubing sizes such as 60, 73 and 89 mm.
