Impression block “PST” is used before the start of fishing operations and is designed to obtain an impression of the shape of the top (rope socket) of a lost instrument or scraper on the butt end of the block when selecting and preparing a fishing tool for a run in the well and determining fishing procedure on the well.

It consists of a housing with an M27x1. 5 connection thread and a soft lead insert on the lower end which is rigidly fixed in the housing. According to the impression obtained due to the difference in the plasticity of the lead insert and the object being examined in the well, you can choose the most suitable fishing tool: a collet catcher or an overshot.

The impression block is a low-cost fishing tool due to its simple design and is supplied with sets of lead blocks of different diameters with the number of duplicates of each diameter as required by Client.

When selecting the diameter, it is necessary to take into account the presence and internal borehole diameter of the no-go ring (scraper catcher, Rudak ring, stop ring) installed in the tubing string.

It is possible to manufacture any diameter with any connecting thread according to the Customer's requirements.

Obtaining an impression:
Under the weight of the load, the soft part of the print contacts the device, creating an impression of its attachment assembly.

Locating the downhole tool with impression block

Analysis:
The resulting impression is analysed to pinpoint the exact location of the device attachment assembly.
Extraction:
The seal is retrieved from the well.
3
Lowering the catching tool:
Based on the information received, the trapping tool is lowered to grab and retrieve the instrument.

An impression block complete with weight and rope socket is used to locate the downhole tool. The process of determining the location:
Recommendation: It is recommended to have a set of lead seals for quick replacement of used seals.
